Manure sampling publication is timely and helpful
A field-by-field nutrient management program requires multiple components to maintain adequate fertility for crop growth and development. "How to Sample Manure for Nutrient Analysis" offers great tips on how, when, where and why specific practices are used, and the importance of manure sampling in a nutrient management plan. Originally provided as PM1558, this publication is now numbered AE3550 in the ISU Extension store system. It describes how to sample solid, semisolid, and liquid manure. The six-page pub is a free pdf download

PRODUCTION TIP
Pork production safety
Pork production safety is everyoneís responsibility. Your operationís safety program is in place to provide an environment that encourages safety awareness and compliance in all employees. Itís designed to help minimize accidents, both human and material, by taking a proactive approach to safety. A proactive approach requires the identification of unsafe or hazardous conditions in every area of the operation, today and in the future. Find out more about Safe Pig Care and Handling Resources on the National Pork Board website.
