Democratic lawmakers are reportedly discussing a series of new measures targeting the rich and large corporations, according to a report in Bloomberg.
These measures could include taxes on stock buybacks, carbon emissions, and excessive executive salaries. One measure discussed includes an excise tax on stock buybacks or treating them as taxable dividends to shareholders.
The Senate Finance Committee discussions have also centered around executive salaries, Bloomberg adds. One proposal is to limit their pay or charge higher taxes in case a salary exceeds that of an average company worker by a certain ratio.
