Grocery stores have seen a significant sales decline as people tire of eating at home

Remember what it was like grocery shopping a year ago when the pandemic prompted us to stock up, stay home, and experiment with bread baking as a form of stress relief? Shelves were stripped bare, and lines wrapped around the store as shoppers grabbed what they could get.

 

Now, stores are fully stocked and grocery stores are seeing as much as a 5.5 percent drop in quarterly same-store sales—a noticeable decline in what should be a steady business, reports Crain’s.

 

Where did all the customers go? Many are tired of eating at home and are dining at their favorite restaurants again...
