China Embassy Says Ban on Some Brazil Meat Exports Is Temporary

The halt of imports from some Brazilian meat plants most affected by Covid-19 cases are “preventive and subjected to adjustments,” Qu Yuhui, advising minister at the Chinese embassy in Brazil, said in a webinar hosted by the Brazil-China Business Council.

 

·         China has resumed imports from one of the plants previously suspended, he said

·         While there’s no scientific proof that food can cause the coronavirus, there is evidence that packaging may pose a threat, he said
