China Certifying Beef Plants for Phase One Deal

China is in the process of certifying U.S. beef processing plants for export as part of the phase one trade deal. American Farm Bureau Chief Economist John Newton said he expects them to have 500 plants certified within a few days. Thatís great for Americaís cattle producers according to South Dakota Cattlemenís Association President Eric Jennings.

 

China has also agreed to lift its zero-tolerance policy for growth hormone residues in beef. Jennings says thatís an important breakthrough.

 

Jennings says to prepare for the phase one deal with China and deal with the COVID-19 outbreak the U.S. needs to make sure the beef supply chain is operating efficiently and effectively...
