US suspends visa application processing in Mexico

The US government is suspending visa processing in Mexico to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

 

There are reports that new applications will not be processed for the H2A guest worker program and only returning seasonal workers will be allowed to enter the US.

 

The USDA is reassuring farm groups that the administration is doing everything possible to maintain continuity of the H-2A program. 

 

In a statement to Brownfield, a spokesperson said the USDA is directly engaged with the State Department and working diligently to ensure minimal disruption in H-2A visa applications during these uncertain times.
