Man charged in Diemel brothers' slayings appears in court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Garland "Joey" Nelson appeared in a Caldwell County courtroom Thursday. He is accused of killing two brothers from Wisconsin in July near Braymer.
Nelson was escorted out of the Caldwell County Courthouse after a court appearance.
He refused to answer questions from KMBC's Matt Flener as he got into a sheriff's van.
Nelson is accused of killing Justin and Nick Diemel. Prosecutors allege the Diemel brothers disappeared after they asked for a $250,000 payment for cattle.
Nick Diemel's remains were found on a farm in Braymer. Justin Diemel's remains were found on a cattle trailer in Lincoln County, Nebraska.
