It was only a matter of time before Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s entered the healthy fast-food craze, and they’re bringing out the Keto as their weapon!

Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. has become almost synonymous with big, meaty burgers, but they’re looking to change their image just a tad bit to fit the growing “beyond meat” movement. However, the two chains, which are owned by the same company, are doing things a little bit differently.

 

The chains are not changing their Thickburgers to the plant-based meat that has taken the nation by storm. Instead, Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. are going the Keto route, as in selling their famous burgers, not on a bun but wrapped in lettuce.

 

These lettuce-wrapped burgers are called “Keto Burgers,” and it can provide a tasty alternative to the traditional burger. The Hardee’s arm of the chain has been in the Keto game for quite a while now, but now, both chains are taking the once-quiet Keto Burger nationwide. In some ways, I have no idea if a Keto Burger would work in this climate.

 

As mentioned earlier, most fast-food chains are experimenting with moving away from meat and is embracing plant-based products that resemble meat. This is thanks to Burger King having tremendous success with its Impossible Whopper...
