Suspect arrested in Blackbird Farm meat robbery

SMITHFIELD – One suspect was arrested in connection to the June 25 robbery of the Blackbird Farm farm stand where more than $12,000 in meats was taken, according to the Smithfield Police Department.
SPD arrested Andy Alicea, 36, of Providence on Saturday, Sept. 14, after investigating the incident at Blackbird Farm located at 660 Douglas Pike using video surveillance of the building.
Surveillance showed two suspects robbing the farm stand of a large quantity of meat, while communicating to a third suspect outside. The videos were shared publicly and led to the identification of Alicea.
Alicea was arraigned at the SPD on Sept. 15 for one count of breaking and entering. He was ordered to be held at the ACI on probation violations from previous offenses.
