An ongoing, multi-agency probe into the killing of cattle
has led to the arrest of a Dolan Springs man,
Juan Fuentes-Lozano, 36, of Dolan Springs, was arrested on
Monday on charges of theft, animal cruelty, criminal damage and nine counts of
misconduct involving weapons. Mohave County Probation Department said it will
also be filing charges against Fuentes-Lozano.
Numerous weapons were also confiscated, deputies said.
Fuentes-Lozano had been ordered not to possess weapons based on his criminal
history, the sheriff's office said. Among the seized weapons was a sawed-off
shotgun at an illegal length, deputies said.
During execution of a search warrant, deputies said they
encountered several other people in the home. Palma Lozano-Fuentes, 59, was
cited and released on two counts of no dog license. Fernando Lopez, 34, was
arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, felony, and no dog license.
Mohave County Planning and Zoning and Mohave County
Environmental Health said they will continue investigating violations they
observed during the execution of the search warrant.
Authorities said their investigation of unlawful killing of
cattle will continue, as will a probe into organizing and hosting illegal
rodeos that may involve animal cruelty. The rodeos are held at the
Fuentes-Lozano's home, deputies said.
People with information regarding both investigations are
asked to call the Arizona Livestock Department at (800) 294-0305 or Mohave
County Sheriff's Office at (928) 753-0753 or Silent Witness at (888) 227-8780.
Arizona Department of Public Safety RATTLER (Regional Auto
Theft Team Law Enforcement Response) Taskforce, Mohave Area General Narcotics
Enforcement Team (MAGNET) detectives, Mohave County Planning and Zoning, Mohave
County Environmental Health and Mohave County Probation assisted deputies in
their investigation.
