AGRIBUSINESS: Marfrig invests in meat plant in Uruguay

SÃO PAULO, 7/17/08 - Marfrig, one of Brazil's largest meat packing groups, has leased the Noblemark meat packing plant in Fray Bentos, Uruguay, according to the local authorities.

 

Noblemark plant has been deactivated since April 30 and since then the company has been seeking investors to resume its operations.

 

Accoridng to Marfrig's general manager Omar Lafluf, the group has also signed a six-month lease for the Jugos del Uruguay plant, by the Baggio group, also in Fray Bentos. (Newsroom & intl agencies/ DCooke - InvestNews)
