Bacon-wrapped pork tenderloins co-star with wine in a new Pork Checkoff-supported promotion at Stater Bros. supermarkets in Southern California, the National Pork Board announced.

During July, bottles of Columbia Crest wines sold at Stater Bros. will feature a recipe for bacon-wrapped tenderloins. When shoppers buy a package of Farmer John bacon, they'll also receive $2 off any Farmer John pork tenderloin.

"Consumers who pick up bottles of wine at the store normally spend more than the average consumer during their shopping trip, and they tend to be willing to purchase the more expensive cuts of meat," said Rick O'Fallon, retail marketing manager, western division, for the National Pork Board. "The 'Perfect Pair' promotion is a great way to feature pork."
