COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Safeway and Hormel Foods delivered 233 hams, along with 1,152 sides of homestyle gravy and 2,376 sides of mashed potatoes to families at the Marian House on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

The donation, part of the Hormel Hams for Hunger program, involves a partnership between Hormel Foods and grocery retailers to provide needed protein for hunger-relief organizations.

The delivery complements the 1,800 turkey breasts that were delivered before Thanksgiving as well as an upcoming delivery later in December for Christmas. Most of those turkeys were given to families in need, but an additional 800 turkeys were delivered for other food needs.

The hams are a donation thanks to Hormel Foods and Safeway, and the potatoes and gravy were donated from the Safeway Turkey and Santa Buck promotion.

Officials say the value of the hams, turkeys, and sides delivered is worth...
