Nebraska Governor Leads Trade Mission to Japan and Vietnam

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts announced he’s leading a trade mission to Japan and Vietnam in September. He’ll be joined by members of the State Department of Agriculture and Economic Development. Nebraska Pork Producers Association Executive Director Al Juhnke says his group will also be participating. He says Japan is their top market and Vietnam is a growing one for Nebraska pork.


He says they’re trying to regain market share in Vietnam as that country is part of the Comprehensive Trans Pacific Partnership and the U.S. is not.


Juhnke says there are several countries vying for both the Vietnamese and Japanese markets.


He says Nebraska is in a good position geographically to supply Japan and Vietnam with Pork...
