Kunoa announces expansion to operations, executive team

Local livestock processor Kunoa Cattle Company announced the growth of its Kauai ranch operations Wednesday.
With plans to double its herd from the current size of 2,000 cattle, the company has added 1,700 acres of land to its Kauai ranch. The additional land, the company explained in a statement, will enable it to grow partnerships with grocers, restaurants and retailers.
The expansion of partnerships is already underway: Kunoa beef can now be found in Hawaii Department of Education schools on Oahu and Kauai through a distribution partnership with Y. Hata.
Kunoa also announced changes to its executive team: Aaron Cates will serve as chief financial officer, Emi Kowalczyk as director of operations, and Bryan Mayer as director of product. Co-founder Bobby Farias, formerly chief operating officer, has assumed the role of president, overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations and strategic vision. Co-founder Jack Beuttell is transitioning out of his role as CEO to focus on investor relationships and partnerships.
