BFSA: New cases of African swine fever in wild boars registered in Silistra

Sofia. The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) said it registered two new cases of African swine fever in wild boars, in the land of State Hunting Unit Karakuz, Silistra region.


The virus was confirmed by the National Reference Laboratory in Sofia. The animals were found during a search of the area by order of BFSA’s Executive Director from February 25.


Karakuz is adjacent to the area where the previous dead wild boar had been found and then tested for African swine fever with positive results. The case was registered on February 25 in the land of Kableshkovo village, Tervel municipality...
