Andrews Meat beefs up export ambitions

JBS-controlled Andrews Meat Industries (AMI) is expanding its export capabilities through the acquisition of a majority stake in premium meat supplier White Stripe Foods.
Food service and value-added meat provider AMI said the acquisition will enhance and expand on the company's distribution capabilities into new and existing export markets.
JBS Australia became the majority shareholder of AMI in 2014, and the acquisition follows a period of growth for the company.
White Stripe Foods is a supplier of premium meat products to international hospitality markets including hotels, restaurants, food service providers, retailers and caterers.
AMI CEO Peter Andrews said the acquisition will enhance and expand the company's distribution capabilities into new and existing export markets.
“White Stripe Foods has significant market strengths with long-standing clients in over 30 countries, predominantly in Asia and the Middle East, and in some cases, providing local representation which has scope for growth,” Andrews said.
The company has a very successful business model which AMI can tap into as it builds distribution into the export markets, he said.
