This week, I reached out for a Bacon Maple Chicken Sandwich, new from America's No. 3 burger barn, Wendy's, with 6,000-plus restaurants dotting all 50 states. This is almost unfair. Maple and bacon and fried chicken in the same sandwich? The only thing missing is someone else paying for it.
Here's the Bacon Maple Chicken Sandwich breakdown: a whole Wendy's Homestyle breast filet, a nice thick slice of Swiss cheese, three
pieces of salty smoked bacon, and a shmear of maple glaze on a buttery croissant. This is a bare-bones, boneless sammie. No pickles, lettuce, or tomato added to make a pretty photo op.

The Bacon Maple Chicken Sandwich has been on Wendy's mind for more than a year, taste-tested in widespread market. Not surprisingly, this innovative sandwich has been a big hit up north, where sweet maple glaze makes for wintry comfort food.
Maple and fried chicken aren't a new pair on the block...
