Cargill Takes On Poultry Firm CAMPOLLO in Columbia

American agribusiness Cargill is expanding its position in the Latin American poultry market with the acquisition of Columbian firm CAMPOLLO, a manufacturer of chicken and protein products, the company announced in a press release last Friday.


Jorge Ivan Duque, who currently serves as general manager of Cargill’s Pollos Bucanero business, will lead CAMPOLLO following its transfer to the American firm.


“As a Columbian, I’m proud we are strengthening the way we serve our customers and helping even more communities prosper. CAMPOLLO reaches millions of customers across the country,” said Duque in a statement. “The acquisition complements and enhances our product portfolio and expands our current reach to more of the Columbian market.”


The Cargill executive said the company will ensure that the integration is smooth for current employees, customers, consumers, and communities. More than 2500 COMPOLLO workers are slated to join Cargill, bringing the American company’s headcount in Columbia to more than 7500...
